We are looking for an experienced Support Team Manager with evidential experience of working at a senior level to fulfil this role. The post will be accountable to the eHealth Applications Technical Services Manager. You will be required to lead the delivery of the IT support for Applications Technical Services including technology such as Microsoft SQL Server, Cache, Ensemble, Rhapsody, XML, Server Operating systems.
Specifically:
- To directly manage members of staff comprising senior support analysts and support analysts.
- To manage the delivery of application support within the NHSGGC environment, ranging from >20,000 user organisation-wide systems to smaller departmental and specialist clinical applications.
- To influence, through analysis and negotiation, the introduction of new applications and technologies within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and ensure appropriate support processes are documented and performed.
- To ensure NHSGG&C have adequate technical skills to support current and future technologies
- To develop and manage the implementation of the procedures required to support the delivery of the IT service
This post is required to ensure maximum access to information systems and avoidance of interruptions so that that clinicians and managers can access appropriate information whenever necessary. The successful applicant is expected to have in-depth knowledge of complex data structures with an emphasis on Cache and Microsoft SQL database structures. It is also expected that the successful applicant has experience of resolving complex issues.
You should be educated to degree level with a relevant post-graduate standard or equivalent IT professional qualification with substantial IT Operational experience. You should be qualified in ITIL (Professional Best Practice Qualifications used in Technology Services).
You will be required to demonstrate leadership experience within an extensive highly developed operational environment, with evidence of successfully managing teams (directly or via matrix management) and extensive breadth of knowledge of the workings of the modern NHS in . Competencies including excellent team-working and communication skills, as well as leadership and oganisational skills, commercial awareness, customer focus, analytical and planning skills; ability to present and engage at a high level managerial or clinical audience are required. A proven track record of being able to work under pressure and using own initiative and to multi-task and manage complex projects simultaneously is essential as is experience of working across organisational and/or professional boundaries and ability to communicate at all levels.
