The Business Intelligence Technical team provides third-line support for all Business Intelligence applications; this includes databases, technical operations, integrations and capacity planning; plus support to second-line BI Applications Specialists / Information Analyst teams, projects and related work. These technologies underpin 100s of Business Intelligence applications and datasets within NHSGGC and include 500+ user dashboards covering data from large scale system (e.g. TrakCare, eMIS), through to specialist clinical systems (e.g. SCI-Diabetes) and support-service applications.
You will be providing specialist expertise on, Microsoft SQLServer-based applications from single server instances to enterprise data warehouses., Microstrategy Enterprise Analytics platform including all development and system monitoring features through to application modelling and design., Data modelling and data warehouse design using IBM Unified Data Model for Healthcare and other emerging organisational data models for research and innovation, Extract Transform and Load software tools from Microsoft and SAP Business Objects to design and deliver data services in real-time, operational, and analytics environments and deployment of information applications typically supporting in excess of 2000 users, Terabytes of data, hundreds of documents and reports, billions of database, millions of patient records, typically millions of transactions per day, and extracts from >50 local and national applications and services. You must educated to degree level in a technical subject or should have obtained degree-equivalent qualifications. Both theoretical and practical experience of applications and databases gained through achieving a relevant diploma or degree and/or previous practical workplace experience is essential. Professional qualification or equivalent accredited training in the application and database technologies covered in this role and have relevant experience in an technical role, experience in the required BI skillset. Specialist knowledge of technical aspects of systems; hardware, database, software and hardware integration environments and associated knowledge of legislation, best practices and procedures surrounding BI. The hours of this post will be worked Monday to Friday and this is a fixed term post for 12 months.
