We currently have several opportunities for enthusiastic GPHc registered Pharmacy Technicians to join our team at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. The unit is the busiest aseptic unit in Scotland, producing around 50,000 items per year from a team of pharmacists, technicians and support workers. This hands-on role involves dispensing of Parenteral Nutrition, IV additives, chemotherapy and clinical trials for both adults and children. In addition you will be able to participate in batch manufacturing under the terms of an MHRA specials' license and compounding using state-of-the-art automation. Previous hospital experience is not essential as full training will be given. It may be possible for one of these two posts to be appointed as a student pharmacy technician. There will also be future opportunities to undertake a recognized checking qualification. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. The core hours of the post are intended to be Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm and the role includes weekend and public holiday working on a rota basis.
