We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmacy technician to join our growing pharmacy technical services team in this newly developed post. You will be responsible for leading our pharmacologistic services team based at Raigmore Hospital and for the management of the pharmacy stock control system (WellSky Pharmacy) in relation to medicines purchasing, storage and supply. 


You will be part of the new Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicine Administration (HEPMA) pharmacy team and work in conjunction with our Lead Pharmacist HEPMA & IT along with the Regional HEPMA team which is hosted in NHS Grampian and includes Grampian, Highland, Tayside, Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland to develop the WellSky HEPMA solution and processes for the region.


We invite applicants with a substantial level of post qualification experience across a range of pharmacy practice settings. We are looking for an innovator with an enthusiastic approach to leadership and implementation of local, regional and national strategies. You will have a recognised qualification at HNC level in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a relevant Management discipline and will bring project management experience, practical knowledge of implementing new services or experience of leading change.


This is a really exciting time to join our team of friendly pharmacy staff who are committed to service modernisation and to developing the role of pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support staff. In addition to the implementation of HePMA we are also installing robotics in both our dispensary and distribution services. This investment in technology will allow us to improve patient services, patient safety and the efficiency of our services.


You must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and able to demonstrate a high level of professional practice. The post is based at Raigmore hospital and there will be a requirement to participate in departmental rotas for public holidays and occasional weekend working.
