BAND 5 HEALTHCARE SCIENTIST PRACTITIONER (Genetic Technologist) - Temporary Post
Applications are invited for a temporary Band 5 Healthcare Scientist Practitioner (Genetic Technologist) post in the Aberdeen Genetics and Molecular Pathology Laboratory. The laboratory is part of the Scottish Genetics and Molecular Pathology Consortia, funded by the National Services Division to provide Genetic and Molecular Pathology diagnostic testing in Scotland.

Experience and qualifications
Applicants should have an Honours Degree in a Biological Science discipline, and experience in relevant laboratory techniques such as PCR, MLPA, microarrays and DNA sequencing (NGS and Sanger).
Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, team working and an ability to follow standard operating procedures are a requirement of this post.
The successful candidate will work as a member of the technical team in the delivery of the technical aspects of the service, including the routine use of automated platforms.
There will be considerable interaction with other staff groups within the department including administrative, technical and scientific staff.
