As part of a multidisciplinary team you will provide the highest quality neonatal care in accordance with the philosophy and policies outlined by the Acute Division in support of the Registered Nurse/Midwife and will regularly work unsupervised.   There are 3 Neonatal Units within Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Level 3 care is provided at The Royal Hospital for Children and The Princess Royal Maternity Hospital. The Neonatal Unit at The Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley provides Level 2 care.  You will undertake nursing care of babies requiring both Normal, Special Care and as required High Dependency Care.  You will provide patient care in support of a registered nurse / midwife to ensure delivery of a high quality of patient care and record and report patient observations in care plans to ensure maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records.  You will maintain good relationships and an empathic approach to baby’s parents / carers and relatives and refer them to a Registered Nurse for any questions they may have on the baby’s condition or for any suggestions or complaints that they wish to raise and adhere to child protection procedures and advise concerns to Neonatal Midwife/ nurse. You should hold an SNNEB qualification or approved SVQ/HNC training programme and have a caring disposition with experience working with babies / or in a caring environment/role.  You should also have experience in a Health Care Setting.  The shift pattern for this post is 11.25 hour shifts, rotational day/night – worked over 7 days.
