Dumfries and Galloway Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) is looking to recruit a Development Officer to join a small team which supports the ADP.
This post is fixed term for 23 months based in Mountainhall Treatment Centre, Dumfries. You will join a team which is managed by the ADP Coordinator and will receive regular support and supervision in post. You will have experience of developing and overseeing a variety of project areas and be able to liaise with partner organisations to ensure workstreams and targets are achieved.
Applicants should be educated to degree level or with an equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline. Some project management experience would be advantageous.
The main task and responsibilities are around Alcohol Brief Interventions (ABIs), liaising with statutory and non statutory services and organisations ensuring they contribute to the local ABI target. Responsible for the Best Bar None scheme across the region, ensuring that the scheme is supported and developed annually. Being responsible for supporting the work around families, children and young people, establishing and being involved in any developments or projects identified by the ADP and supporting the ADP Coordinator as required.
Applicants will be expected to have experience of working within a multiagency setting and experience in working and negotiating with staff at all levels from a variety of organisations both statutory and voluntary.
Travel across Dumfries and Galloway and within Scotland will be necessary, so access to a car or transport will be essential.
