NHS Tayside seek to recruit an experienced nurse who can demonstrate transformational leadership skills and expertise in the fields of school nursing, looked after and care experienced children and young people and paediatric complex disabilities. You will be educated to degree level with relevant post graduate qualification (or equivalent development) and have substantial previous experience in an area relevant to children, young people and families. This will include experience in children’s health services in community and/ or acute hospital settings. This Senior Nurse Post has operational and management responsibility for the nursing teams in 3 service areas across Tayside within the Children & Young People Care Group including Tayside School Nursing, Paediatric Complex Disabilities and LACYP nursing.
The post holder will demonstrate the ability to manage teams. They will be expected to provide senior leadership to the nursing workforce across Tayside within their remit to ensure that professional and operational priorities are delivered to the highest standard and that person-centred cultures are developed and lived by the team.
The postholder will work collaboratively with multi-professional leads and contribute to the ongoing success and development of the services within the Women Children and Families Care Division and ensure NHS Tayside contributes effectively to the Children and Young Peoples agenda. You will be expected to work closely with partner agencies, represent NHS Tayside and contribute to multi agency guidance, planning and joint service provisions affecting our most valuable children and young people.
You must have experience and understanding of data reporting and analysis to help shape future workforce planning and training appropriate to service needs.
Your experience should be broad and encompass both clinical and managerial expertise including a working knowledge of organisational and professional policies. You must be a resilient, solution focussed and disciplined individual who shares their knowledge and expertise with the aim of supporting and developing the team around them. This will include project management, improvement work and effective, efficient budget management.

Base of work: Dundee Glenlaw Respite Unit, Kings Cross Site. Postholder to travel across Tayside and work out of other NHST sites
Hours of work are: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday between 0830 and 1700.
