Band 6 Post: 12 month Fixed term contract / development secondment opportunity for 12 months
Health Innovation South East Scotland (HISES) is an Innovation Test Bed set up by the Scottish Government Chief Scientists’ Office which forms part of national network created to deliver the Government’s vision to utilise the innovation process to deliver a healthier and wealthier nation for the future.
Formed through a collaboration of three NHS Boards— Borders, Fife and Lothian, with the latter taking on the role of lead host Board, HISES has a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions to the health and social challenges, both regionally and nationally.
This full-time post is available on a 12 month fixed-term contract and can be offered as a developmental secondment opportunity.
We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and ambitious person to support the delivery of transformational and innovative change in the provision of health and care services, working collaboratively with senior colleagues across the public sector, academia, the third sector and Scottish based life science industries.
The post holder will be a part of the core regional team based in NHS Lothian and will support this new regional programme of work. Colleagues from a clinical background would be welcomed to apply as the Project Manager will be expected to deliver complex clinically led innovation projects including Data Driven Innovation challenges. This role would be particularly advantageous to a clinician looking to gain project management experience and develop these skills further.
In addition to ensuring the creation of effective innovation collaborations, the post holder will oversee the progress of these, spotting in advance potential risks to their successful completion and from that developing actions to mitigate these risks.
You must have knowledge and understanding of the wider objectives of the NHS Scotland Innovation Programme, be able to influence others, and be able to develop and maintain effective working relationship with senior managers, project stakeholders, and with third party service providers from across Scotland and beyond.
Reporting to the Innovation Project Team Manager, the post requires considerable experience and awareness of service delivery in the NHS and with that the ability to work with senior level staff.
The post also requires a degree-level intellect, together with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
