Health Intelligence Analyst Specialist
Band 6 £32,118 - £39,560 per annum
Plus Distant Islands Allowance £1074 per annum
An opportunity has arisen for a Health Intelligence Analyst Specialist to support the development of management information across NHS Western Isles. The post will be key in further implementing business intelligence approaches across the organisation including effective data management processes, production of insightful analytics and the development of online dashboards and other data visualisation outputs. Managed within the Public Health Intelligence & Information Services Department the postholder will join an established small team of information specialists with a track record in data development and analysis within the health field. In addition to supporting the depts. BI plans across a range of data sources and using various BI tools the postholder will build specialist health intelligence knowledge in key areas of service reporting. For these key areas you will act as the key contact for reporting to the Scottish Government e.g. Long Term Conditions, Prescribing intelligence.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with sound previous experience in a systems reporting and analytical environment preferably within health or related field, to further develop reporting and dashboard intelligence in NHS Western Isles. The candidate should be educated to postgraduate level in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science or Informatics or demonstrate equivalent level analytical/BI experience. You will require good skills in range of analytical and business intelligence tools such as Qlikview, Business Objects, Mapping software eg. ArcGIS. Additionally excellent data discovery and transformation skills particularly in SQL-server technologies will be essential for interrogating the various patient information systems and developing systems reporting. The Public Health Intelligence & Information Services Department sits within the Public Health Division and primarily focuses on the public health intelligence needs of the organisation but also delivers management information to the entire organisation.
