Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI) is one of the major acute hospitals within NHS Greater Glasgow with strong academic links to Glasgow's universities. It provides emergency, elective in-patient services for the North East of Glasgow. Medical Specialty wards at GRI offer an exciting, acute and varied experience of nursing. We have a permanent and fixed term Band 5 nursing posts, full-time and part-time available within the following internal medicine wards with sub specialties beds in: Respiratory, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Acute Medical Receiving,
Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit Medical High Dependency Unit. There may be an opportunity for some posts to provide rotation through all of the above areas, with successful candidates further support, you’re learning and development in each area. You should have excellent skills to deliver a high standard of quality clinical care and to supervise others. You must be able to plan and priorities your own and others workload. Good communication skill, written, verbal and listening are essential. At the time of appointment applicants must have full NMC registration. In the Medical Specialty in-patient services there are three Lead Nurses responsible for professional and managerial leadership to ensure the objectives and quality standard bands National Quality Strategy. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC with relevant post registration experience. The shift pattern for this post is fully rotational 7 days and nights. MDHU is currently in ward 44 with CCU.
