Working as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Public Health Protection Unit (PHPU). You will play a key role in preventing the spread of communicable disease across Greater Glasgow and Clyde. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are expanding our team of Health Protection Nurses to deliver Covid-19 contact tracing as part of the GGC Test and Protect programme as well as providing specialist advice on communicable diseases, infection control and immunisation. You will undertake a challenging role requiring you to develop specialist knowledge and understanding of evidence and policy in relation to these areas of public health and will have the opportunity to work across a range of settings and partner organisations to develop effective health protection interventions. You will have good communication skills and be able to tailor specialist advice to patients and professional audiences. You should be Educated as Adult Nurse registered with the NMC with demonstrated experience in a nursing role with a degree qualification in nursing; infection control or public health with proven experience and knowledge of communicable disease prevention; infection control; contact tracing or immunisation programmes. This is a fixed term post for 2 years. The hours of this post will be worked between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. You will be expected to work a roster over 7 days a week.
