Shift Pattern: Wednesday and Friday – 07:00 – 15:30
You will provide a safe and efficient collection of Clinical and Domestic Waste within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, ensuring duty of care is achieved whilst extending courtesy to staff and members of the public at all times.
As a member of the waste management team, you will take an active role in helping to achieve the environmental objectives of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and safeguard the health & safety of others through effective waste management.
Duties include but not extensively: collection transportation and disposal of clinical and pharmaceutical waste from all sites, decant wheelie bins into Eurobins, segregation of waste into correct waste streams. Compile clinical waste supplies and deliver to customers. Load and unload disposal contractor, collection of domestic waste and tip into compactor, weigh and record all incoming and outgoing waste, clean vehicles & waste containers where required. Daily / weekly vehicle checks and to observe Duty of Care when using vehicles and equipment is also required.
Qualifications:
You must be qualified to drive 7.5 ton vehicles, good and thorough knowledge of transport rules and regulations. It is desirable you hold a valid driver CPC and digital tachograph card, and be willing to undertake a driver’s assessment. You should have substantial experience of driving 7.5t vehicles
