The Systems Librarian is responsible for ensuring a seamless system and service working across NHS Lanarkshire libraries and service providers. Working with the Evidence team, the Systems Librarian will ensure the continued development, upkeep and adherence to quality standards for (but not exclusively): clinical guidelines and pathways including the implementation of the pilot project using the Right Decision platform, the Evidence team internet/intranet and the implementation of any new electronic/web based tools as they develop within the service.
The System Librarian will convert local knowledge into digital tools that NHS Lanarkshire can use to support decisions about patient care and service improvement. The System Librarian is the connection between research, real-world knowledge, end-users, software developers and data scientists. The Systems Librarian is not required to have computer programming skills but needs to be able to work closely with programmers/IM&T to communicate requirements and oversee working solutions.
