A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 nurse (registered nurse, part one of professional register) to work within the District Nursing Team based in Dunoon, Argyll and Bute HSCP.

This is a  full time (37.5hrs) community nurse post and covers Dunoon and the surrounding rural areas. The hours cover  08.30 to 20.00hrs. This includes weekends on a rota system and bank holidays.

To apply for this post it is essential to have post registration experience. It is desirable you have some experience of working in a community  role with expertise in  clinical skills focusing in the areas of wound management, continence care and palliative care.

The role also encompasses work on prevention, anticipation and supported self management to enable everyone to live longer, healthier lives at home or in a homely setting.  You may be asked to run a  weekly Chronic Obstuctive Pulmonary (COPD)Rehab Class  with the lead physio so an interest in pulmonary disease  is desirable. You will be supported to undertake a relevant post registration qualification  to assist with this if one has not already been achieved. You will need the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with good communication skills. 

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively to various work locations within NHS Highland Argyll & Bute HSCP.
