This is an opportunity for an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to work in a busy department which provides a full range of clinical and diagnostic services to NHS Tayside and North-East Fife and South Grampian
The Blood Sciences Department is based on two sites at Ninewells Hospital, a large Teaching hospital and Medical School, Dundee and Perth Royal Infirmary, Perth.
We are looking for a member of staff that can demonstrate team spirit, initiative, flexibility and has the enthusiasm to train further. You will be working in a refurbished state of the art laboratory with Siemens ADVIA 2120 FBC analysers, ACL TOPS Coagulation analysers, and blood film reporting. The Department provides specialist services such as Diabetic HbA1c measurement and Haemoglobinopathy investigation by HPLC, Thrombophilia screening, Coagulation Point of Care/NPT monitoring, and leukaemia diagnosis using Immunophenotyping and cytochemistry.
Post qualification professional development is encouraged and supported. On attaining appropriate competences you will join the roster for the Out of Hours sessions which will include some weekend, evening, overnight and public holiday duties.
You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and have or be nearing completion of the IBMS Specialist Diploma in Haematology or equivalent experience prior to 2005.
Hours of work are: 37.5 per week
