The PECANOS Service provides support to primary Care GPs within Deep End practices in their local area in order to engage Alcohol dependent Individuals who have a history of non-engagement with Alcohol and Drug recovery service (ADRS) or who have had frequent attendance at Accident & Emergency. Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service is offering a fantastic career development opportunity for 18 months at Band 5 level as an Addiction Nurse for the PECANOS service within Alcohol Drug & departments or multiple admissions to hospital. You will coordinate joint care planning and initiation of interventions for patients who have a history of little or non-engagement with alcohol and drug community services through a motivational and assertive approach for individuals with co-created recovery. You will have the opportunity to promote and develop the role of the Addiction Nurse in the Deep End Team by working in collaboration with patients, GP, Community Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services, acute hospital services, social care colleagues and third sector agencies demonstrating a holistic and recovery focused approach to practice. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC.and that you have evidence on continuing professional development. . The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm.
