SENIOR CLINICAL LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER IN CLINICAL SIMULATION

Simulation enhanced teaching and learning is integral to the delivery of the MBChB and other healthcare curricula at the University of Aberdeen, where there has been sustained investment in facilities and faculty development in collaboration with our partner health boards. This new post will play a lead role in the next phase of innovation and development.
The post is available up to full time. It is expected that the successful candidate will have significant experience in clinical education and in particular the delivery of simulation based clinical education, encompassing both technical and non-technical skills, interprofessional learning and teamworking. You will be expected to have the relevant background and experience to develop and deliver a programme of simulation based pedagogic research working with the Centre for Healthcare Education Research and Innovation (CHERI), attracting grant funding and with high quality output.
Key activities will be the delivery of high quality simulation enhanced clinical teaching relating to the University of Aberdeen MBChB curriculum and the Clinical Skills Centre (CSC) and other simulation facilities at Foresterhill, to provide support for the ongoing development and delivery of the Clinical Simulation Strategy with the CSC Director and establishing an associated programme of high quality pedagogic research in collaboration with CHERI, NHS partners and the CSC.
For individuals who wish to undertake clinical duties alongside this post, salary will be paid on the relevant clinical salary scale. For individuals appointed as Senior Lecturer, salary will be paid at the appropriate point on the grade 8 salary scale (£52,559 - £59,135 per annum).
