The Health Promotion Service leads on approaches and services that maintain and improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. This covers the life course, early years and children, adults and older adults.
We are recruiting one part-time Health Promotion Officer. Working primarily as part of the Health Promotion Training Team you will work directly with colleagues in the Health Promotion Service and in partnership with colleagues from Health & Social Care, NHS Fife and Fife Council, plus a range of third sector partners and private sector organisations in Fife.
This post is aimed at the promotion of Mental Health and Wellbeing and the prevention of mental ill-health across Fife. You will take a lead role in the planning and delivery of a portfolio of Mental Health Training. You will actively contribute to change in practice /service provision through training delivery to improve population mental health and well being and contribute to the reduction of health inequalities.
You will have extensive experience in delivering training, in particular mental health training courses such as Mental Health First Aid, Safetalk, ASIST etc. You will be required to demonstrate your knowledge and experience of health promotion theory and practice and the impact of inequalities on health in relation to mental health.
You will have a degree and relevant experience in a health related field preferably with a postgraduate qualification in health promotion. Excellent knowledge and understanding is required of the health improvement agenda, structures and systems across Community Planning Partner organisations especially as they relate to the theory and practice of positive mental health promotion/mental health. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a track record of delivering high quality training in demanding timescales.
Salary will be pro rata for part time hours.
