Are you a current Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) looking for an exciting new opportunity or an experienced Band 5/6/7 nurse looking to progress your career as an ANP?
An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of the Transforming Primary Care developments to expand the Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Role within Fife’s Integrated In-Hours Urgent Care Service. The ANP role will support General Practice and the wider Community Nursing Teams deliver safe, effective and person centred care to patients within the primary care setting. The In-Hours Urgent Care Service delivers Urgent and Unscheduled Care to the population of Fife. This includes the provision of a ‘First point of contact for urgent unscheduled home visiting’ and for supporting the management of older adults within the community setting including: nursing and care home residents; residents in Intermediate Beds; and the complex treatment and management of acutely unwell, palliative or frail patients. The future In-Hours Urgent Care workforce will also deliver a triage and minor illness service to reduce the demand on General Practice for urgent unscheduled care within the GP practices or alternative cluster locations.
This is a new concept and is subject to action research and so will change and develop over time as part of an expanding multi-professional skill mixed team.
You will be required to either:
• Be working in an Advance Practice role and have undertaken MSC (level 11) Advance Practice studies to PGDip level or equivalent
Or
• Be an experienced nurse, educated to degree level with evidence of recent CPD and willing to undertake your MSC (level 11) Advance Practice studies to PGDip level. You will be fully supported and provided with a clinical supervisor, study time and a funded place at Dundee University Kirkcaldy Campus commencing your studies in May 2020 with a planned completion date of 18-24months. This is dependent on the successful candidate’s previous academic study as there may be an opportunity to RPL previous academic credits towards the PGDip in Advanced Practice. This will be done under Annex 21 (see attached for more info)
You will require excellent communication skills and be able to work as a member of the wider Health and Social Care Team with the ability to work autonomously utilising your own initiative, clinical judgement and decision making. As this is a community post you will also be required to travel across Fife.
You will be employed within the H&SCP West Division but will predominately be based within one of the seven H&SCP Locality areas (see map), however this would be flexible dependent on service needs.
