An opportunity has arisen to join our Physiotherapy team working in the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit in South Ayrshire, currently based in Biggart Hospital. You will work with qualified Physiotherapists and assist them in delivering rehabilitation with people who have had a stroke.
Daily tasks include assisting physiotherapists with gait re-education, strengthening and balance work, and the use of hoists and stand aids. You will also undertake housekeeping duties including cleaning the Therapy Room after use, cleaning and maintaining walking aids and equipment, stock control, and administration duties including photocopying, scanning and stats data entry. This is a mentally and physically demanding job and as such you will be required to demonstrate awareness of health and safety at all times. You will have a good understanding of the role of the physiotherapy assistant in a rehab setting and have relevant experience of caring for and assisting people to maintain or regain their physical function.
Key attributes for this post will be your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work with patients and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Active participation in our in-service training programme and service improvement is expected and encouraged.
Hours: 30 hours, Mon – Fri, 0830-1500 (these times can be discussed)
