This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to work in a busy department which provides a full range of clinical and diagnostic services to NHS Tayside
Applications are invited from HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a busy diagnostic department, undertaking 400,000 investigations per annum, in the Virology section of the Medical Microbiology Laboratory at Ninewells Hospital.
Applicants must have HCPC registration and have completed an IBMS specialist portfolio in an appropriate subject or an equivalent qualification recognized by the IBMS. Candidates who have not completed an IBMS Specialist Portfolio will be considered for the trainee post (AfC annex 21 applies). Candidates must be flexible, enthusiastic and well motivated and be able to work as part of a team. Saturdays are worked as part of the normal roster. On attaining appropriate competences you will also join the roster for the Out of Hours sessions which include Saturdays and public holidays.
The Department is approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science and NHS Education Scotland as a training laboratory. The department has UKAS accreditation to ISO 15189 standards.
