Clinical Photographer (Band 5)

An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Photographer to join our team within the Medical Photography Service at NHS Lothian
You will join a team of 21 staff who are committed to providing a comprehensive Medical Photography / Video / Graphic Design Service to NHS Lothian. We are based at six hospital sites, five within Edinburgh and one in Livingston. You will be required to cover clinics at more than one hospital site in Lothian.
The ideal candidate should possess the BSc in Medical Illustration. Consideration will also be given to applicants who have an equivalent level media qualification and / or postgraduate certificate in Clinical Photography and also be on the Academy of Healthcare Science (AHCS) register. Applicants should be experienced in digital imaging workflow and be familiar with photography image management systems.
Although priority will be given to qualified and experienced clinical photographers, an Annex U trainee position may be available for suitable candidates with an appropriate degree in photography. A trainee would be expected to undertake a one year, distance learning, Post-Graduate Certificate in Clinical Photography in order to qualify for the AHCS register. Please note the course intake is January 2020 so a training period of 16 months is expected. Pay will be based on a band 5 salary but under Annex U conditions until qualified.
A portfolio of recent work is expected to be submitted electronically for those candidates shortlisted to demonstrate their range of photographic skills
