NHS FIFE INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY

NHS Fife’s Procurement Department provides a comprehensive Procurement and Supply Chain Management service to NHS organisations in Fife.

You will be required to provide a senior role within the Procurement Department, reporting directly to the Procurement Compliance Manager and supporting existing staff within your team. You must be a highly motivated individual who can work without direct supervision, manage enquiries on your own initiative and be customer-focussed, working within a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent communication, assertiveness and prioritisation skills are essential for this role.

You will provide first line management of staff including annual leave and sickness absence record keeping and will be expected to resolve any complaints/conflicts prior to escalation to the Procurement Compliance Manager.

You will also be expected to respond quickly and flexibly to any sudden workflow demands. You will organise and co-ordinate all workflow activities and ensure that any absences, especially at short notice are adequately covered, raising any concerns in a timely manner.

You must be computer literate, an excellent communicator and have experience in the use of MS Office packages and experience of management record keeping systems would be an advantage though not essential.

Previous managerial or supervisory experience is essential, as well as experience of working within a procurement or supply chain environment.

This post is fixed term for 6 months.  You are required to be an NHS Fife Employee, Intern or Bank Staff member to apply for this post.

Applications on a secondment basis will be considered providing you have prior agreement from your current line manager.

For informal enquiries please contact Kevin Finnegan, Procurement Compliance Manager, on 07966 925703.
