The Post holder works within a specialist IT Security team reporting to the IT Operations Manager but will be part of an operational team directly delivering the infrastructure services. They will have good technical understanding and support/maintain the following critical security areas/systems: 


---- Anti-virus

---- Email and Internet Filtering

---- Firewalls

---- Patch and Vulnerability Management

---- Backup and Disaster Recovery

---- Microsoft Active Directory

---- Microsoft Systems Centre

---- Virtualisation Technologies (VMware/Hyper-V/KVM)

---- Endpoint Encryption Technology

---- Secure Remote Access

---- Security Penetration Testing


The post holder will work under direction from the IT Operations Manager and will be responsible for supervising other staff involved in these activities. They will be required to provide technical reports to the IT Operations Manager on a regular basis regarding the performance and status of these systems.
