Post 1: An opportunity has arisen for Transport Drivers to join our Transport Department on a fixed-term basis for 18 months, working within the PPE Distribution Hub, Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline. 

The hours and days of work will be worked in accordance with the needs of the service. You will predominantly be required to work Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8am & 5pm, on the PPE Hub transporting PPE across Fife Wide. PPE supplies will be delivered to the Victoria Hospital Service Yard, and transported onto an NHS Fife vehicle and delivered and offloaded into the PPE Hub.

Although line managed by the Transport Department, you will work on the instruction of the PPE Hub for delivering PPE supplies and also assisting with the internal picking and packing supplies within the Hub.

Drivers can be lone workers, driving throughout Fife (and surrounding area i.e. Edinburgh & Dundee) on a daily basis, routes can also be repetitive. Vehicles range from cars, vans, minibuses and 3.5 tonne luton vehicles. 
Physical and manual handing element to post due to transporting items, pallets and cages.

You will have good communication skills. You must hold a clean full UK driving license is required to enable you to drive NHS Fife’s vehicles. Full training provided by the Transport Co-ordinator and PPE Hub. Including attendance at mandatory NHS training courses.  Consideration would be given to job share.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.

Post 2: An opportunity has arisen for Transport Driver to drive the shuttle vehicle (currently a 9 seater minibus), between the Victoria and Queen Margaret Hospitals transporting staff, specimens, units of blood and mail and any other goods / supplies that may be required. Working to a scheduled timetable. The hours of work will predominantly be four days, between Monday to Friday working 5 hours per day with alternate weeks:  
week 1: Dayshift  0730 to 1315hrs / week 2: backshift 1315 to 1845hrs.

Although the post will be undertaking the Shuttle Services driving role, you may also be included to learn and develop in other driving duties such as Labs, Pharmacy, Stores, Patient Transport and Clinical Waste collections. Vehicles range from cars, vans, minibuses and 3.5 tonne luton vehicles. Post will be based within the service yard on the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy however there may be a requirement to work within any other Hospital site. Physical and manual handing element to post due to transporting items such as mail, specimens, pharmacy and packages.
