Senior Information Analyst – Clinical Outcomes
National Headquarters,
£31,800- £39,169 per annum (pro rata)
37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Business Intelligence team based in National Headquarters.
The BI team is responsible for all routine and ad hoc performance reporting. This includes production of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports covering all aspects of performance such as operational, clinical, PTS and sickness absence. These routine reports are produced for SAS Executive, Board, Senior Managers and the Scottish Government.
We are looking for a Senior Information Analyst – Clinical Outcomes to join the team who will be responsible for providing strategic analysis to support the improvement of data quality and increased use and dissemination of clinical and linked data to help improve service delivery. This includes co-ordinating in high priority areas such as Scottish Stroke Care Audit, Scottish Government’s Thrombectomy Action Group (TAG) and other significant areas as agreed with key stakeholders.
The post holder will work across and have a thorough understanding of the full range of the strategic programmes, working with senior managers and project leads to support delivery of key workstreams. They will undertake highly complex analysis which will support strategic service development and Service investment. The post holder will work closely with all senior staff in the organisation such as Executive Team Members, Regional Directors, Ambulance Control Centres etc and senior members of Human Resources, Medical Directorates, Clinical Transformation Team and the Scottish Government Health and Social Care.
The postholder will need to be highly numerate and have experience of analytical statistical techniques and working with complex datasets. Full training in the source database systems will be given along with training in using Business Objects reporting tool. The postholder will be expected to build and improve reports so some experience or knowledge of using Business Objects, SQL, R programming and Data Visualisation tools (such as Tableau) would be an advantage.
This is a varied role and the postholder will need to be flexible and able to cope with periods of pressure and competing demands. Consistent attention to detail and good organisational skills are essential. A willingness to support colleagues in the team and be flexible to meet ever changing demands from within the Service and externally is essential.
Although the post is based within NHQ, due to current government advice this job role will initially be based at home, with a view to being based within NHQ again in the future.
