AIR AMBULANCE PARAMEDICS
(Two Year Secondment & Reservist posts)
Applications are now being invited from operational Qualified Ambulance Paramedics who are interested in becoming Air Ambulance Paramedics. The posts on offer are a secondment and reservist positions based at Inverness Airport.
If successful you will also be expected to develop a close working relationship with the ScotSTAR Retrieval Service and be an integral part of these teams, supporting their delivery of advanced clinical care across Scotland.
It is essential that candidates are UK state registered paramedics who can demonstrate and evidence significant clinical experience and knowledge, along with a comprehensive continual professional development portfolio. The workforce model for air ambulance provision across Scotland is evolving, and to this end we are seeking individuals who have the capability and willingness to develop with the Service.
Short listed applicants will be required to undertake a series of assessments including clinical assessments (OSCE), a physical assessment similar to the Service pre-entry fitness test and a swimming/water confidence assessment. Please note that due to operational limitations, applications cannot be considered from persons over 90 kg in weight.
Successful completion of all required Air Ambulance training courses (HEMS, HUET, STASS etc) is mandatory before taking up post. Following successful completion of their HEMS training, staff will be expected to complete a minimum of two years of aircraft operations; failure to do so may, in line with Service policy, require the repayment of any associated training costs.
Applicants should also be aware that these posts do not qualify for excess travel time payments, or any mileage or relocation expenses.
