An exciting position has become available within the Royal Hospital for Children for a Lead Nurse. With 256 beds the Children’s Hospital provides a large number of specialist services to the West of Scotland and the wider population of Scotland in addition to the full range of secondary care services to the children of Greater Glasgow and Clyde. You will provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership to a number of wards, departments and specialist nurse teams including Theatre & Recovery, Outpatient Department, Pre-operative assessment, day surgery/23 hour bed ward and ambulatory care ward. The Lead Nurse will ensure the objectives and quality standards of the following strands of NHS Scotland’s National Quality Strategy and National Nursing and Midwifery Quality Assurance Framework are achieved and any future national initiatives.

Person Centred Care
The Lead Nurse will inspire, motivate and empower their nurses and wider health care teams to provide and continuously improve the delivery of safe, effective and person centred care for our patients and families. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Childrens Nurse with the NMC and that you have substantial experience in a recognised leadership position. You will have excellent communication and problem solving skills and importantly have a desire to develop and improve service. The post is a 37.5 hour permanent position.
