We are advertising a full time Care Home Education Facilitator post. The post is supported by NHS Education for Scotland and is hosted within the Integrated Practice Team of NHSG. The IPEG team covers the Health and Social Care Partnerships areas of Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray and the post holder would be responsible for providing practice education support to the Care Homes within the partnerships areas. The post holder/s will also have close links to Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen University and the North of Scotland Colleges. Given the wide geographical area to be covered we are prepared to consider flexible working, including job-share arrangement.

The Care Home Education Facilitator role will provide support, education, and development for registered nurses and students within the care home sector. The post requires the development and maintenance of a learning environment where both education and lifelong learning are seen as integral to practice. The role aims to enhance the quality of the practice learning experience and positively contribute to the future nursing workforce in line with local and national directives.

Applicants should be educated to degree level and be able to evidence extensive experience at Band 5 or above. Experience of mentoring is essential and teaching and facilitation of professional development for staff in a range of clinical and educational settings would be an advantage. Further development would be supported within the role as is the opportunity to present at National Conferences, raising the profile of NHS Grampian and the Care Home sector as a learning environment.

Travel across the whole of Grampian will be necessary therefore the successful candidate/s should have a valid UK driving licence.
