A Maternity Cover vacancy has arisen with the Public Health Directorate for an Office Manager.  This post provides a Directorate wide key co-ordinating function and support to the Director of Public Health.  The post holder manages the Public Health secretarial team to ensure an effective administrative and secretarial service.   The post holder is also responsible for the human resource element of this service such as recruitment, performance appraisals and ensures fair application of human resource policy. 

The Office Manager must be able to plan strategically and be able to apply project management skills to a range of circumstances, for example, organising and ensuring timely minutes of meetings.  Excellent communication skills are essential because of co-ordinating activities with a range of partners, often at senior executive level from national organisations as well as across Highland.     

The office manager fields general and human resource enquiries on behalf of the Director of Public Health and senior staff, and is responsible for the management of hardware and office requirements.
