This is an exciting opportunity to join the NHS Borders Wellbeing Service which provides a range of programmes to support clients to make positive changes to their health and emotional wellbeing. These may include:
- Smoking cessation
- Support for healthier lifestyles including weight management and physical activity
- Addressing mild anxiety, stress and depression.
Through this provision the Wellbeing Service aims to reduce health inequalities and improve the wellbeing of people living in Scottish Borders. The post-holder will provide individual and group support to using evidence based health behaviour change, CBT and guided self help. The post-holder will work within an adviser team in an identified geographical/locality area and maintain local networks and an awareness of opportunities available for their clients.
The successful applicant will have a degree in a relevant area (e.g. health improvement, support and care services) and will have relevant practical experience of providing professional support to individuals. They will have active, empathic and reflective listening skills.
