We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Children’s Nurse to join our developing Community Children Nursing (CCN) service across Dumfries and Galloway. The CCN service currently has vacancy, 37.5 hour, Band 5, Fixed Term contract until March 2021 post based at The Willows [Children, Young People and Family Centre] in Dumfries with a focus on Covid testing and winter planning.
The candidate should possess passion for improving the health and well being of our children and families; enthusiasm to embrace change; resilience when working with complex families and leadership to ensure effective service delivery. The role specifically will have a focus on managing the Covid testing across the region for the under three age group who are needing the test prior to surgery or allocated staff groups. Part of the role will also involve working with Public Health to ensure adequate reporting. The successful candidate will be required to work as required for the needs of the CCN service and within the Children, Young People and Sexual Health Directorate.
The successful candidates will join the existing CCN service which is continually developing; this includes CCN’s, Specialist diabetes Nurse, Staff nurses and Support workers. Together they will work closely with families and colleagues in the NHS and partner agencies to co-ordinate, plan, implement and evaluate care for children and young people within a variety of Community and Health Care settings. As well as offering a central hub for community clinics, the Willows offer close working with co-located services such as Health Visitors, School Nurses, Midwives, CCN’s, CAMHS, Allied Health Professionals and Vulnerability Team.
