Job Advert

The intensive psychiatric care unit (IPCU) in University Hospital Wishaw is a six bed purpose built unit. The ward takes both male and female patients. This unit has been established to care for patients in the Lanarkshire area who are experiencing acute mental health problems with an increased level of risk. The ward has a higher ratio of staff to patients to help manage these risks. The ward also has a locked door.

You will work alongside a team of nurses, clinical support workers, consultant psychiatrist, OT and students to deliver intensive care for acutely ill patients.

Teamwork is key within IPCU to provide high quality patient care whilst ensuring staff feel their input and contribution to care is valued.

To be considered for this role you will have SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role, have the ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team, have effective written and verbal communication skills.
