There is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to work in a highly integrated role within Rheumatology in NHS Lothian. This is a well-established post within Rheumatology that supports delivery of care to a range of patients in the outpatient rheumatology setting. The role is varied and well supported within the clinical team with input into weekly multidisciplinary meetings and scope to include pharmacist-led clinics. We require an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work alongside the Lead Rheumatology Pharmacist to promote and deliver best clinical practice in line with local and national guidelines
This would be a great job for an experienced band 6 pharmacist or a current band 7 looking to experience a new specialty. Although well established, the role is continually evolving as Rheumatology is a specialty that is going through a very exciting period of progress, with lots of new drug development in the past decade.
It is an exciting time to get involved in Rheumatology, particularly this rewarding and flexible job – in a fast-paced but fun department!
Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, must be a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and should have completed (or be close to completing) the Scottish Hospital Vocational Training Scheme or equivalent, with demonstrable clinical pharmacy experience. A diploma / MSc in clinical pharmacy or Independent Prescribing qualification is desirable.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
