You will be trained to deal with all incidents and to respond to emergency situations.
The successful candidates will
• Provide general assistance to staff and visitors
• Carry out patrols within the building at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary
• Provide security for staff, visitors & patients, issue & collect keys from staff for the building
• Escort staff to area’s within the hospital and provide a security presence at Accident & Emergency from 22:30 – 05:30
• Hold and restrain members of the public if the are violent when requested by medical staff.
• Respond to 6888 alerts, such as fire, bomb alert or violent and abusive patients or any 6888.
• Liaison with police or fire brigade in the event of an emergency
• Monitoring of CCTV System covering site security of all areas within GRI, and downloading any incriminating evidence to assist police in any investigation, and to attend court if summoned
• Complete any written reports for incidents that have taken place in the GRI
Personal requirements required include good listening skills, good communication skills, ability to understand and adhere policies and procedures, including patient confidentiality ad ability to use discretion when necessary.
Required to have SITO Certificate/Conflict Management Certificate
The shift pattern is; 5 over 7 - 12x hour shifts - 1 week on 1 week off / shifts 06:00 – 18:00 or 18:00 – 06:00 – Flexible relief
