CONSULTANT IN TRAUMA AND ORTHOPAEDICS – 1 post
NHS Fife wishes to appoint a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a trauma and lower limb/foot and ankle subspecialty interest. The successful candidates will join a team of 15 Consultants and also expected to cover Trauma, participating in the on call rota (currently 1:11).
The post is split between the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy and the Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline. OPD activity may be required at the Adamson Hospital Cupar, and St Andrews Memorial Hospital. NHS Fife is in the process of building a new orthopaedic facility to provide elective theatres, ward space and OPD department.
There are currently 6 teams with Consultants providing general orthopaedic services plus specialist care in Major Joint replacement and reconstruction, Arthroscopy, Upper and Lower Limb surgery. The applicant should have CCT/CESR. Sub-speciality interests which complement existing local department expertise will be considered. Fellowship training preferred.
