SUPERNUMERARY PRACTIONER CLINICAL TECHNOLOGIST – BAND 5 (Annex 21 – 70%)

FIXED TERM CONTRACT – 2 YEARS

Location Dundee



You will join a team providing a Medical Equipment Management service to NHS Tayside. The service includes the installation, commissioning, calibration, performance assurance and repair of a wide range of medical equipment. This may involve such skill-sets as electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, IT and networking.


Applicants should possess a relevant engineering/science/technology-based degree. Candidates with a relevant HNC/HND in an appropriate subject, may be acceptable provided there is an equivalent profile of knowledge, training and experience to degree level.


Applicants should have good manual dexterity, communication and interpersonal skills.


The post is a fully funded 2 year training post, successful applicants will be registered onto the IPEM Diploma in Clinical Technology in Medical Engineering and applicants are expected to complete that training and achieve the award of DipIPEM (T) leading to registration on the Register of Clinical Technologists.  The scheme is commissioned by NES.
