An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Safety Practitioner to support the Property Department of NHS Tayside. This post is designed to further develop appropriate safe systems of work, standard operating procedures and risk assessments focussed predominantly but not exclusively within the Estates function. This work will involve liaising directly with Estates Managers and staff to identify areas of risk and draft safe systems, Standing Operating Procedures etc for agreement of senior management.
You should hold Chartered Membership of the institute of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH) and/or hold the NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety or a relevant related degree. Good knowledge and understanding of relevant UK safety legislation is essential, as is the ability to be assertive and promote best practice across NHS Tayside. Persuading and influencing skills are also essential to support and facilitate a change in attitude of managers and staff.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
