An exciting opportunity has arisen for individuals seeking a fulltime post as a Speech and Language Therapy ( SLT ) Clinical Support Worker within the South Glasgow Paediatric Speech and Language therapy team . Clinical Support workers are integral members of SLT teams providing essential support to SLTs and will work with their supervision and guidance in undertaking clinical and non-clinical tasks for children with Speech, Language and Communication needs from 0 – 18 years. The Support worker will work independently with children in a variety of settings e.g. schools /nurseries, homes, clinics etc following care plans detailed by an SLT to improve a child’s speech, language and communication skills.
Candidates must be caring and compassionate, have a working knowledge of communication development and the role of Speech and Language therapist. Candidates must have previous experience of working with children with speech, language and communication needs and have the skills to engage with and motivate children. Candidates need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a motivated and dynamic approach, commitment, flexibility and a strong team work ethic.
The succesful candidate is required to have SVQ 111 Allied Health Professional Support (SLT) or equivalent formal training with previous experience of working with children in speech, language and communication needs.
