As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale – through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
We are looking for a senior donor carer to join our existing team of staff who provide a high standard of care to our donors; you will be required to assist in the day to day management of Blood Collection sessions under the supervision of the Senior Charge Nurse. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible person to undertake this challenging and interesting post. Candidates should be educated to SVQ level 3 or equivalent and have previous experience of dealing with the public in a health or service environment.
The position is based in Inverness; however extensive travel throughout the region is required. You must be flexible, and willing to work variable hours. Hours will include occasional Sundays and late evenings.
The successful candidate must comply with the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland 2009; and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check.
Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
