We are looking to recruit a Band 5 Theatre Practitioner to our diverse perioperative team based within Gartnavel General Hospital (GGH). Specialties within GGH include General Surgery, Oncoplastic /Breast Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Orthopaedic elective /trauma, Oncology, Interventional Radiology and Endoscopy. We can expand your skills and knowledge across a diverse range of cases and across our South Sector Sites. Our education team will guide and support you whether you are a newly qualified nurse / ODP, or if you are just new to our department and facilitate your learning and education development. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC, trained in general nursing or adult nursing or a Registered Operating Department Practitioner. Experience in theatre, Anaesthetics or Recovery is desirable but not essential. As part of the multidisciplinary team you will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of a programme of care and the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to the patients within the perioperative department. The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required. You will be required to work within a flexible shift pattern. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service. As part of NHS GG and C‘s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC/HCPC registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC/HCPC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted for interview. The shift pattern for this post is Flexible.
