In collaboration with the Senior Charge Nurse, you will be accountable for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for the defined patient groups in CAU, working within the professional standards held by the NMC Code.
There are four areas within CAU that require very different approaches to patient management- Initial assessment, Rapid assessment, Ambulatory care and In patient zones. On each shift you could be allocated to any of these areas.
You will be responsible and accountable for the safe application of patient centred care. You with the other members of the multi-disciplinary team are responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for each individual patient, working within the professional standards held in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
You will support the other members of the team to meet the needs of their patients and all allied, multidisciplinary team members involved in the care of the patient.
You must identify acutely unwell adults, specialty needs, referral needs, family and social support needs amongst many others.
You will acknowledge the need to efficiently manage flow within the area they are working, to specialty wards. They will support timeous discharge, interacting with families and social services to discharge safely and effectively.
You will actively support the SCN to ensure the unit meets the expectations of support systems such as HEI and OPAH and incorporate this into their daily workload to ensure patient safety within the unit.
We encourage you to actively seek opportunities for growth and development to increase your knowledge base and actively seek out experiential and reflective learning. You will be up to date with learnpro and MAST.
You will administer prescribed medications following the NMC Code and Standards for administration of medicine.
Post 1: 37.5 hours per week
