This post is an autonomous post responsible for the dispensing and reception service in Glenelg.  Knowledge of the dispensing process and experience of medicine handling and stock control is an important element of the post and previous experience in this area would be advantageous.

You will be expected to undertake and complete the Buttercups Dispensing course over a 9 month period by Distance learning and supported by the Practice Manager.

You will be required to work unsupervised in the main within Practice policies and protocols and be able to exercise judgement and make pragmatic decisions. Experience within a health care setting is desirable and the ability to relate and understand the needs of the patient population using well developed communication skills.

You will require confidence in using a variety of IT systems to make appointments, file electronically and order medicines and stock items.  Intermittent lone working may be required.
