There is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to work in a highly integrated role within rheumatology in NHS Lothian as a job share. This is a well-established post within rheumatology with pharmacist-led rheumatology outpatient clinics to promote and deliver the best clinical practice in line with local and national guidelines. This includes being responsible for decisions about the clinical management of these patients as an independent pharmacist prescriber with support from the wider clinical team.
Although well established, the role is continually evolving as Rheumatology is a specialty that is going through a very exciting period of progress, with lots of new drug development in the past decade. It is an exciting time to get involved in Rheumatology, particularly this rewarding and flexible job – in a fast-paced but fun department!
Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, must be a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and must be an independent prescriber. You will have demonstrable clinical pharmacy experience and a clinical pharmacy diploma/MSc.
