An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Team based at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. We are looking to recruit a Teenage Cancer Trust Youth Support Co-ordinator to join our existing multiprofessional team, providing age appropriate care and support to Teenagers and Young Adults (aged 16-25) with cancer.
We are looking for an individual with extensive experience of working with young people. To be successful in this role you will need to be emotionally resilient, have compassion, sensitivity and a sense of humour. An ability to work autonomously and be proactive is also essential.
Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for planning, developing and delivering tailored 1 to 1 and group support on and off the unit. You will lead and contribute to recreational and support activities using face to face and remote/ virtual means to encourage and promote peer support. You should have significant experience of working with young people within age range 13-25, preferably in a heath or social care setting, with proven ability in project work involving youth.
The shift pattern is; Monday-Friday
