Dr Gray’s Hospital is a District General Hospital, in the historic county town of Elgin, serving a catchment population of 132,000. It comprises of a Surgical/General Medical ward, Orthopaedic ward, General Medical/Stroke ward, an Accident and Emergency department, Surgical Assessment Clinic, Acute Medical Ambulatory care Unit, Day Care ward, a High Dependency Unit, Theatres and Out Patient department.


Ward 5 is a busy 24 bedded inpatient ward providing care and treatment for 16 general surgical patients, 2 in-patient surgical assessment patients and 6 general medical patients.  Patient management includes elective and unscheduled surgery.

The Senior Charge Nurse provides 24 hour responsibility for the nursing team, working closely with the clinical and managerial teams within the hospital, to support the delivery of safe, effective and quality care for patients.


Applicants are required to have extensive experience with proven leadership skills at Band 6 or above in an acute hospital setting.
