A Unique opportunity within the Children Nursing Service, NHS Tayside to be a frontline Leader providing clinical expert care and treatments within the role of an advanced paediatric nurse practitioner.


An exciting and innovative opportunity has arisen within Tayside Children’s Hospital to co-ordinate and lead a team of staff ensuring care delivery is of the highest standard to our children and their families. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced paediatric nurse to develop and enhance leadership and clinical skills in a supportive environment. The areas of remit within this post are Children’s High Dependency & Assessment Area.


The post holder will act as a clinical expert within the defined areas of High dependency and paediatric assessment ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered to children and their families in partnership with all members of the multi disciplinary team. The post holder will promote best practice within the paediatric-nursing speciality, develop and maintain safe-working environments utilising advanced communication, leadership & teaching skills.


We invite RSCN / Registered Nurse Child with a minimum of 5 years at Band 6 currently working within the acute clinical areas , demonstrating excellent team working skills with ability to work using own initiative.

Educated to Msc Advanced Practice level and Non medical prescribing certificates are essential.

You will have experience of clinical working within an acute setting at a senior level.

Proven Leadership skills and clinical expertise are an essential requirement for this post ensuring a flexible approach with excellent time management and prioritisation skills alongside an understanding of clinical research practice.


You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the NMC Register 


Hours of work are:  37.5
