An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our established Nursing team within the Emergency Department (ED)  and Out Patient Department (OPD) at Lorn & Islands Hospital, Oban. 

Within the role lies the leadership and management of the clinical team within the ED, OPD and the Advanced Nurse Practitioners within the wider hospital base.  In addition to the clinical leadership of nursing staff, as the specialist  practitioner,  the role requires  sound management skills to facilitate the ongoing collaborative developments  in relation to unscheduled care, which incorporates the GP out of hours services closely linked to the ED.

This post offers  a great opportunity to be involve in the diverse working nature of the rural hospital, which through collaborative working  offers many rewards.

Therefore, the successful candidate must  have the ability to work flexibly across the clinical and managerial aspects of the role,  with the drive and passion to  facilitate change  in order to provide an excellent service  to our service users. 

It is acknowledged that the the successful candidate may not have clinical skills across both departments, therefore, whllst clinical experience in both departments would be advantageous, and some experience of rural working, a comprehensive induction will be offered to facilitate this exciting yet rare opportunity.

Lorn & Islands rural General hospital is a modern, well equipped hospital situated in Oban on the stunning west cosat of Scotland. 

Ferry links can transport you easily to Mull or the more distant islands of Iona, Barra & tiree.
