The Practice Development Nurse (PDN) will provide professional and practice development support to nursing staff and care home staff within Glasgow City HSCP Older Peoples Care Homes.
This will incorporate:
- Support to develop and enhance nursing and care home staff practice, skills and competencies
- Sharing good practice across nursing services in Care Homes in line with National. Board and Local standards
- Develop innovative clinical and evidenced based nursing practice in line with agreed priorities, standards, policies and guidance, ensuring that nurses/care home staff of all grades are involved in the process
- Develop and deliver workshops, training and education in line with service initiatives and local priorities
- Critically contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical guidelines, procedures and policies and monitoring of clinical standards
You will be operationally and professionally accountable to the Lead Nurse, Care Homes
You will be required to function as an independent autonomous practitioner by virtue of in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience and will lead and enable the team to provide a high quality service.
You will also provide a high level of leadership for Community nursing and Care Home staff within the HSCP. This will involve working in partnership with a range of local authority partners and other agencies.
It is essential you are a;
- 1st level registered nurse registered with NMC
- SPQ or equivalent level of competence with relevant community experience.
- Post graduate qualification or specialist knowledge gained through relevant community experience that can be demonstrated
- Demonstrable evidence of CPD with direct relevance to the responsibilities of the post
- Community/primary care experience
The shift pattern is; 9.00am to 5.00pm.
